
Fixes for Sonos Trueplay: why it’s missing or greyed out, Android and iPad limits, and results that don’t sound right. Fixes come from Sonos support unless labelled community.

Trueplay isn’t available on my Android phone
- Advanced (phone-based) Trueplay tuning is iOS/iPadOS only.
- On Android you can use Quick Tuning only, and only with Arc Ultra, Beam Ultra, Era 100, Era 100 Pro and Era 300.
- Otherwise use an iPhone or supported iPad.

Trueplay missing on my iPad / beta iOS
- Several iPads are not supported, including iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd to 4th gen), iPad Pro 12.9-inch (4th to 6th gen), iPad Pro M4, iPad (10th and 11th gen) and iPad Air 11/13-inch (M2).
- Beta iOS versions are not supported.
- Use a supported iPhone instead.

Trueplay doesn’t appear for my speaker
- Port, Connect and Roam SL do not support Trueplay.
- Amp: only with Sonance In-Wall/In-Ceiling speakers (not Outdoor). Connect:Amp: only as rear home-theatre channels.
- Move, Move 2, Play, Roam and Roam 2 use Auto Trueplay instead: Settings > product > Sound > Trueplay > Auto Trueplay tuning, with the mic enabled.

Trueplay vanished after I added surrounds (Android)
- Community reports Era 300s could be tuned on Android standalone but not once set as surrounds.
- Accepted answer: tune from an iPhone.

Trueplay toggle greyed out or missing in the new app
- Sonos staff confirmed on the Community that some features, possibly including the Trueplay on/off toggle for Android, were not yet in the redesigned app and would return in an update.
- Update the app and speakers to the latest software (Sonos requires this for Trueplay).

Quick Tuning won’t start or fails
- Turn the microphone switch on for all involved products.
- Settings > Your System > speaker > Sound > Trueplay > Trueplay Tuning > Quick Tuning.
- Keep the room quiet and do not change volume while it runs.

How do I do Advanced (phone) Trueplay properly?
- Settings > Your System > speaker > Sound > Trueplay > Trueplay Tuning > Advanced Tuning (iOS).
- Walk the room moving the phone slowly from head to waist height, covering as much area as possible.
- No talking, footsteps or loud appliances; do not change volume during the tone.

Sounds worse after Trueplay (too bassy, dull or bright)
- Retune using the technique in S7.
- Fine-tune with Settings > product > Sound > EQ (Bass, Treble, Loudness).
- Or toggle Trueplay off in the Trueplay menu to compare.

Surrounds too loud or quiet after tuning
- Settings > room > Sound > Surround Audio.
- Adjust TV Level, Music Level, Music Playback (Ambient or Full), or Surround Distance; Reset restores defaults.

When and how do I retune?
- Retune after moving a speaker, or if the sound changes undesirably.
- Settings > room > Sound > Trueplay > Retune (iOS). On Android, only Quick Tuning products can be retuned.
