RoomPerfect Troubleshooting

Fixes for Lyngdorf RoomPerfect error messages and common questions, from Lyngdorf’s own manuals and support pages.

Find your problem

• No microphone connected message

No microphone connected message

1. Check the mic cable is connected to the microphone socket and to the mic itself.
2. Use only the Lyngdorf microphone, which runs on non-standard power.
3. If the mic has been dropped, it may be damaged and need replacing.

Fault – No signal

1. Unmute the volume.
2. Check no cable is disconnected, then retry.

Fault – Signal clipping

1. Lower the calibration volume (the unit recommends a level at the focus measurement; adjust and retry).
2. Keep the room quiet; a loud nearby noise can corrupt the measurement.

Fault – Low signal / measurement takes forever

1. The message appears if the low-frequency measurement runs over 5 minutes or the high-frequency over 2 minutes.
2. Raise the calibration volume and reduce background noise, then retry.

Where do I put the mic for the focus position?

1. Place it at the main listening seat, at head height, pointing as your head would.
2. The system plays a tone from the left speaker and suggests a calibration volume; accept or adjust and retry.

Room Knowledge won’t climb / how many room positions?

1. Move the mic to random, varied positions, heights and angles (point it up, down, sideways). Avoid symmetrical spots.
2. Keep at least 0.5 m from walls, floor and ceiling, at least 1 m from speaker fronts, and about 50 cm between positions. Do not hide it behind furniture.
3. Stop at 90% or more; about 95% is very good. Chasing 100% biases the result.

Focus or Global: which filter should I use?

1. Focus: best for one listening seat.
2. Global: better across the whole room.
3. Compare with the Bypass function on the remote.

Result sounds too bright, thin or not bassy enough

1. Do not try to edit the correction; Lyngdorf says it is neither required nor useful.
2. Use the Voicing menu to shape tonal balance, and assign voicings per source.

Subwoofer integration / do I need to redo RoomPerfect after changes?

1. Enter distances correctly: main speakers to the speaker front; subwoofers to the sub’s rear corner.
2. On MP-series, run Adjust Sub so subs are aligned with each other and the speaker channels before calibrating.
3. After any change to Output setup, distances, crossovers or sub settings, run a new RoomPerfect calibration.
4. Back up your settings after every calibration (the manual says “ALWAYS”).
